Public transport modes, made of complex infrastructures such as subways and large interchange nodes constituting modern stations, require a thorough study of their technical and aesthetic features. Such large investments must have immediate and durable effects. These kinds of common buildings, covering wide urban areas, have known design improvements. Actually, designers are aware of this need. The aim to achieve the best results implies the necessity of studying the existing buildings, of their architectural evolution and of the best practices in the field of urban station design. The aim of my job is to provide to designers of these remarkable projects all the necessary functional information and the perception that they are important elements for the city prestige.
